Waste pipe in a crawl space that was cut and did not connect to the sewer pipe, but rather ended and dumped onto the floor of the crawl space.

Waste pipe underneath a bathroom sink and it is missing a P trap. A p trap prevents sewer gasses from entering the home by creating a water seal in the pipe. In this case the homeowner used 90 degree elbows to extend the pipe and failed to install a p trap.

Deck post holding up a roof and it is sitting on the deck boards without a beam  underneath. There should be a direct load path from the roof all the way to the ground and in this case the roof load is resting on 1 inch boards which could fail.
